KTM 65 SX suspension settings

Clicker calculator

Starts from the OEM stock setting and adjusts for rider weight + pace. OEM standard rider weight 7799 lb (from the factory manual).

Front compression
no adjuster / not stated
Rear compression
15clicks out
Rear rebound
5clicks out

Clicks are counted counterclockwise from fully seated (seated = hardest — in plain English: screwing the adjuster all the way in gives the firmest damping; each click back out softens it).

Target sag: 70 mm

Starting points, not gospel: track conditions, tires and rider style move the needle. Always set sag first, change one thing at a time, and confirm settings against your model-year manual.

2015 owner's manual. OEM standard rider weight 77-99 lb. Fork: compression std 2 TURNS out, rebound std 2 TURNS out (turns, not clicks). Shock LS compression comfort 18 / sport 12; HS compression std 1 turn; rebound comfort 8 / sport 2. Static sag 30 mm.

Setup order that actually works

  1. Set race sag first, with the rider geared up — sag decides whether springs are even right.
  2. Return every clicker to the stock position, then apply the weight adjustment above.
  3. Change one clicker at a time, one to two clicks, and test on the same section of track.
  4. Write settings down before and after — clickers you can't retrace are clickers wasted.
