About
Byron Motosports Park is one of the Midwest's marquee amateur motocross facilities, located on E Ash Rd near Byron in Ogle County, northern Illinois — its name and flagship series nod to the cooling towers of the adjacent Byron nuclear plant. Founded by Joe Vincer in 1969 and now run by his son Aaron Vincer, the park runs two tracks: the natural-terrain Legacy Track (the original 1969 course, redesigned in 2011 by Marc Peters, with wood chips, sand and man-made obstacles) and the Hilltop Track (added 2004 for smaller classes and ATVs). It hosts roughly 35 motocross and ATV events a year — headlined by the ten-round Nuclear Series with its oversized trophies, plus AHRMA regional, Racer X Senior Series, AMA District 17, and Loretta Lynn's area qualifier events.
