About
Appleton Area Recreation OHV Park is a 330-acre off-highway-vehicle park owned and managed by the City of Appleton, two miles northeast of town on U.S. Highway 59 in Swift County, west-central Minnesota - one of only a couple of designated motorized riding areas in the region. Built on a former gravel mine, it offers roughly 15 miles of ORV and ATV/OHM trails, a 1.5-mile off-highway-motorcycle practice track, three enduro tracks and youth practice areas, along with play areas, sand dunes, hill climbs, rock crawls and a water hole. Admission is free (a current Minnesota DNR registration plus a no-cost city ATV permit are required); it is open sunrise to sunset seven days a week year-round, with no camping inside the park.
