Youth Motocross in the Midwest: Kid-Friendly Tracks by State (2026)
Getting your kid into motocross is one of the best decisions a moto family can make — but finding the right track for a young beginner takes some homework. This guide covers every track in the Midwest we've confirmed as youth-friendly or having a dedicated kids/peewee track.
What to Look For in a Youth-Friendly Track
- Dedicated peewee or kids track — separate from the main track, built for 50cc–65cc bikes
- Safe, low-pressure jumps — no massive gap jumps or blind doubles in the kids area
- Welcoming atmosphere — staff who are patient with first-timers and their families
- Spectator area — parents should be able to watch easily
- Restrooms and basic facilities

Getting Started: What Your Kid Needs
For ages 4–6 (50cc bikes): - Properly fitting helmet (youth sizes run small — measure carefully) - Full protective gear: chest protector, gloves, boots, goggles, pants/jersey - A peewee-specific track — never put a 50cc on a full-size MX track
For ages 7–12 (65cc–85cc): - Same gear requirements - Start on the kids track, progress to the main track when the rider is ready — not when the parent is ready
Coaching resources: - Roc Solid MX (Warsaw, MO) — technique workshops for all ages - 4-State Moto Complex (Neosho, MO) — year-round training schools - Adrenaline Motorplex (Adrian, MO) — training camps
